PHILADELPHIA, October 30, 2009 --On Friday, Oct. 30, in Philadelphia teams of BDP International employees from as far away as Brazil will compete for the chance to influence the direction of their company and the logistics industry itself. The event is One BDPFusion, a competition for the best next generation of innovative ideas in freight logistics and transportation management from the people who know the business from the inside out.
After months of competition, five teams of BDP employees will make the business case for their ideas before BDP CEO Rich Bolte, St. Joseph's University Professor Brent Smith, Philadelphia-based King's Road Consulting principal William Hawkins and other esteemed judges. The battle of young ideas will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Chemical Heritage Foundation on Third and Chestnut streets. The winner will go on to compete in the final round against teams from Europe and the Asia Pacific region on Dec. 10.
One BDPFusion is a global initiative to power a new age of entrepreneurial ideas and upward mobility within BDP. Also known as "intrapreneurship" or the wisdom of crowds, the program empowers employees to drive business by generating ideas that might lie outside the scope of management.
You are invited to observe the competition, interview the teams and discuss the future of global logistics with BDP management. We welcome your coverage of this innovative event.
