FAQ - Recap of key consideration factors: Many queries have been received regarding the nature and severity of damages away from the central earthquake zone.

A key point of consideration is the length of the earthquake tremor and the broad geographical severity. The earthquake lasted for approximately 3 minutes with magnitude of 8.8 at the epicentre.

Within a 350 mile radius of the epicentre (including the major ports of Valparaiso and San Antonio and the capital city, Santiago), the earthquake still maintained a magnitude of 7.5 to 7.8 on the Richter scale.

Many warehouses and a range of transportation and cargo handling equipment have been impacted over a large area. This series of bulletins has already reported damage to LNG unloading equipment nearly 400 miles from the epicentre.
