Weather forecasters
report the center of Tropical Storm Hanna is projected to make
landfall near the US coastal South Carolina/North Carolina border
or perhaps just east of there early on Saturday morning, September
6.
Accordingly, the National Weather Service has posted hurricane
and tropical storm watches for parts of the Southeast US Coast.
At this point, the Port of Charleston, SC is prepared to close
its gates at noon on Friday, September 5, but that could change
if the storm continues a more easterly track up the US East
Coast.
In preparation for the pending weather threat, BDP and its Charleston
operations are ready to put a Business Continuity Plan into
effect if needed. BDP Charleston will be open and fully staffed
until at least 2:00pm (EDT) on Friday, with a coverage staff
on duty thereafter. However, if BDP operations in Charleston
or other cities along the East Coast are impacted, we will be
fully prepared both to make the safety and well-being of our
employees and the unmitigated flow of your transportation and
logistics service our highest priorities.
BDP is monitoring the progress of Tropical Storm Hanna and will
be communicating with customers, partners and employees as events
warrant.
Thank you.
