BDP opens sixth office in Indonesia to serve oil, gas and mining industries
PHILADELPHIA, USA and BALIKIPAPAN, INDONESIA, August 8, 2008 – BDP International (BDP), a leading, privately-held global logistics and transportation services company based in the U.S., has opened its sixth Indonesian office in Balikipapan, Kalimantan, a seaport on the eastern coast of Borneo that also serves as a transit hub to Samarinda, Bontang and Palu on Sulawesi Island. Managing the office is Henky Indracahya, who reports to Aaron Chen, managing director of BDP Indonesia in Jakarta.
"We sited this full-service office to meet the dedicated
needs of the region’s burgeoning oil, gas and mining industries,"
explained Chen. "Among the most specialized of these logistics
support services are planning and executing the delivery of
shipments and supplies to remote locations via rivers, inadequate
roads, air charter and, in some cases, by helicopter. These
companies require increasingly sophisticated equipment and components
from throughout the world, and we are now in a much stronger
position to serve them through our global network of project
logistics specialists."
The new office also will provide more conventional logistics
services, including ocean and air freight, inbound and outbound
customs clearance, road transport and warehousing. In addition
to its headquarters in Jakarta, BDP Indonesia has branch offices
in Surabaya, Semarang, Belawan, and Batam Island.
